I've been waiting for this demo to come out! I'm a huge 'GN fan and wasn't sure who did the package.

There is a sung cut that isn't on this demo… I'm not sure if it's part of the package or was done seperate from the package as a test last year (or even done by Jones/TM). It was a TOH cut with an actual legal “The Voice of Chicago – WGN – Chicago.” They only played in one slot right before first pitch of Cubs games.

It is indeed the first time that they are using any sort of musical logo in their imaging. In fact, even now they aren't using the package fully. The only sounder they use is the news sounder and that's only for five second hits during breaks in Cubs games. The show themes aren't really used as intros to the shows, but rather in promos. I'm wondering if they'll be implementing more as time goes on…as it would be kind of a shock to the listeners' system to go from no musical imaging whatsoever to a full-frontal attack.

        Great to hear it!

That's a very stylish sounding package – really nice. It should sound very distinctive on the air. Well done to WGN for going with something a little different!!

This package is impressive, but I also discovered the KSSK Honolulu package.

Full points for a LOT of lyric variety!

The call letter melody is pulled around by the singers, basically the same, but tempo/rhythm changes inside the calll letters, very clever.

Great vocal sound and some nice brass / organ on the tracks..

                Timeless….

Anyone know what year this was issued?

Len,I believe that the package was made available on the website round about 2003.

Hopefully, someone will correct me on that and also tell me when KSSK actually first used it.
