As if he didn’t have enough jingles already I have just heard a quick preview of some jingles that Chris Moyles has had done for his week of live shows from New York next week. Some nice production on them – there is a bed that is very “big” and “Letterman” in style. Worth having a listen next week.
November 23, 2005 at 12:49 pm #25362MadAny chance of a sneak preview?

It was great when it first came out but haven’t MUSIC 4 got any new ideas?I think they HAVE come up with new ideas. Sure, it’s the same song (call it his “theme” tune if you like) but since the Moyles show launched two years ago, they’ve changed it 4 or 5 times (the originals, Euro 2004 Portugal cuts, Christmas 04, 2005 “big band” versions and now the New York cuts). Each time it’s had clever alterations and the lyrics leave you waiting for the punchline at the end!!
Sorry, I disagree – but I think how they’ve developed it well over time: very clever and well produced.

December 8, 2005 at 6:38 pm #25403mbMemberI think you are right Pete, and to be honest its a really lazy song as its so easy to relyric. I think its use and lifespan has been stretched to breaking point for a station which is about breaking music and styles.
Try make up your own version, virtually anything fits
These jingles are so tired, we sing them everyday
we do them every moring ….in a slightly different wayThe Chris Moyles song – national radio !

December 8, 2005 at 6:45 pm #25404DevawebMemberI’m with Bealey on this one… familiarity is one of the most important parts of a breakfast show, so having the same tune reworked in many ways iss a very sensible idea. It’s no different to all the songs in “The Best Show 1 & 2” that use the same tune but presented in different ways.I’ve no doubt that listeners enjoy the different lyrics, and the beds are altered to fit what the show is doing (New York, Portugal etc). I think it works really nicely.
