For the first time in their history, Magic 105.4 have started using sung jingles, with a Coldplay-inspired top of hour cut which debuted this week.

I’ve uploaded a copy to jinglemad.com.

I can’t work out who produced it, and need to know!

The drum track sounds very much like Groove Addicts – their drums always sound very organic – not much processing at all. They sound “grown up”, both musically and especially vocally – another Groove Addicts trait. But the use of effects isn’t such a big GA thing, rather more a Reelworld thing. However, the FX are far too subtle for Reelworld’s most recent work. Whilst the vocals are tight, they’re also more ‘real’ and less ‘jingle group’ than Reelworld. I can imagine Steve England coming up with the track, but the vocals? Not in a million years.

Perhaps this could be the new TM Century sound, reinvented for 2005? I doubt it, having heard a couple of their recent station pitches, but you never know.

Any ideas? If you can help, that’d be great!

I’d say Groove knowing Richard Park’s history with Dain. I have to say i think the vocals are very weak – too sweet for my liking. I think they’ve got travel beds etc. With Eamonn starting etc perhaps we will see Magic moving more towards the typical station. Interesting that every big station in London has imaging from a different company – IQBeats on Heart, Groove on Magic, Reelworld/PAMS/Wise Buddah on Capital, Music4 on BBC London, Bespoke on Smooth etc

mmmmmm…If there is only One (sang) Jingle in the “Package” then I say its not any of the well-known companies but maybe a “Private Thing”

Well I’ve listened for a week and there definately is only ONE (Sang) Jingle!
Must be a record for a (proper) Radio Station to have only one new Jingle!
Either extremely expensive (and couldn’t afford the rest) or done
privately (and ran out of alternate lyrics!) 😆
