When we were at JAM last year, we talked with Jon Wolfert about new C.D.`s for collectors. Jon hinted that a new offering in 2005 would be a compilation of JAM demos featuring the “original” demo and the “resung” demos.

Here`s some examples……….

As Jon stated to us, it takes time to create new CDs. Clients always get priority over collectors. While he understands that there are people out there that want new CDs every 6 months or so, it just isn’t possible. You”ll be surprised at how many people actually work for Jam. It’s not uncommon for Jon to answer the reception phone himself.

Every demo is re-created from scratch, everything down to the VO and the cut numbers down to the mixing out of the cuts as heard on the original demo. Here’s a few more suggestions –

Metroline was originally for Metro FM, but Y98 (KYKY) was used on the demo.

Not many know that Omni Trax was created for KMGG (Magic 106) Los Angeles in 1984, but WENS was used for the demo in 1986.

Some cuts of Z World were customs for the Chiltern Network, but Z100 was on the demo.

Let’s not forget “Good Time Radio,” which we’ve all heard demoed for WGBB/Long Island. It was originally created for the never-launched Superadio network. And I am STILL not sure why “Hitradio 2” released a demo for KREO/Santa Rosa, when the original KKHR/Los Angeles version kicked ass!
