They really are a breath of fresh air. It’s been a long time since a CHR station brodcast such a traditional sounding package, with such a classic strapline “The North East’s Number One Hit Music Station”
They are a rework of the Z100 package by ReelWorld this year.
Thoughts? 😆
April 26, 2003 at 9:25 pm #23253tlgWasn’t sure at first but I love them now!
I just wish I could get hold of them, it seems to be very hard to get hold of Metro Radio jingles, other than the old Metro FM stuff.
Anyone know how to download Z100’s package from Reelworld?
April 26, 2003 at 10:46 pm #23254MartinSYeah, for some reason I happened to ‘tune into’ Metro Radio via the net earlier today. Suppose I just wanted to get an idea of what imaging they are using these days.
I was surprised and impressed by the Top of the Hour cut, proving there’s nothing wrong with a station having sung straplines.
They always sounds especially good when they including some geographical reference to the area that a station serves, like this one does – let’s have more of ’em!

You’ll have to record it direct onto your hard drive, through CoolEdit or equivelent. Lots of sites are doing this now 😉
May 20, 2003 at 4:27 am #23280retrostationAnywhere I can get recent or current metro jingle packages????
😆June 12, 2003 at 8:25 am #23308MARKThey’ve been on Hallam FM for a while and are awesome!
Strapline for hallam is possibly even better? metro’s sound a bit squashed.
“South Yorkshires Number 1 Hit Music Station”
New Top of the hour is amazing.
“These are the frequencies… 97.4 , 102.9 , 103.4 , officially rated number 1 in doncaster, sheffield, rotherham, barnsley and chesterfield.. South Yorkshires number 1 hit-music-station hallam fm, HALLAM FM!”
ahem hehe.
I got plenty of recordings. Ill upload some tonight.
and yeah, I downloaded the z100 pack using cooledit.
November 2, 2003 at 12:31 am #23419tlgInterestingly they have stopped using most of these jingles now.
All of the ‘North East’s Number One Hit Music Station’ jingles have been binned and they now just use the Metro Radio part with a v/o before them using the line “More Variety, The Best Music” (something they used to use years ago.
Does anyone know why they have stopped using what I regard as one of their best ever packages and why change the strapline (again!!), I though The North East’s Number One Hit Music Station summed the station up perfectly.
November 4, 2003 at 10:32 pm #23422MartinSThankfully Hallam FM are still using the full vocals in their Top of the Hour, or at least they were when I heard it in Donny on Sunday!
Incidently, does anyone know whether or not Key103 have had any Reelworld Z100 cuts re-sung? The seem to have been playing some shotgun type jingles occasionally for a while now, which definitely don’t come from their original Reelword package.
I’d love to hear “The North West’s #1 Hit Music Station.. Key103… Key 1 0 3” like on Hallam!

MartinNovember 6, 2003 at 3:03 am #23423oznetradioSome great quality, fresh MP3 downloads here from Reelworld!
November 30, 2003 at 7:52 pm #23434freq-ky😥 I was lucky to get my downloads.Sadly it appears Reelworld have now blocked that avenue off.Shame that.Looks like I’ll have to save for a Adobe Audition as I don’t think you can do it on a Cubase VST32 (or can you?)
