Thanks For the site, I for one was grateful while it lasted.
December 22, 2006 at 10:47 pm #28140IainJohnstonMemberAs someone else who has been a jingle collector for over 30 years (but not all the time!) its sad to see that you're packing it in David, you've done a lot of real effort and thats well & truly appreciated!
I do hope that you'll not throw the anorak into the bin, and still continue around JingleMad at least?
Hope you have a Hopeful Christmas and A Brave New Year
December 22, 2006 at 11:06 pm #28141martinlesterMemberSorry to see the Jingle site and Jingle Network News is no more! any one who has not read the news:
I regret to announce that after 30 years of being a jingle collector,
I am no longer enthusiastic about the hobby that has
taken up so much of my time all these years. It has become a chore and a bore.
I have donated my entire collection to a media museum so that
future generations can enjoy the history of the radio jingle.I will no longer be producing any editions of The Jingle Network,
for more details of the future of JNN please visit http://www.jinglenews.comI started this “Jingle Site†(apologies to Pete Wilson – it was not
intentional to take your name!) as a way to get my interest in this
hobby back. Sadly it hasn’t worked and I now have to admit that I just
am not into it anymore. So thank you to everyone over the years – I’ve made some great
jingle buddies . . . . great bunch of people! This site will shortly disappear. Grab the audio and video
while you can. The only bit that will remain is the CPMG history
owing to my current arrangement with Ben Freedman.I hope I’ve done my bit over the years to promote this hobby – I
know you all will continue to do so, and lets hope the sung
identification jingle will once again in the future dominate
the UK airwaves as the ONLY tool for radio branding. As Ken R would say . . . . Peace through jingles!
