Just spotted this on the JAM site … brought back some memories for me

and indeed a lot of good stuff on the On Air page

June 5, 2006 at 8:10 pm #21202upsweepMemberMr Keates was one of the winners in Radio1’s promo 31 days in May, everyday they gave away a prize (money cant buy) once in a lifetime prizes for everyday in May. All you had to is register and a draw would take place daily – If I remember
His prize was to have his own Jam Cut Radio1 Jingle

They would announce the prize for the day on the Breakfast Show – then you had to listen out for an alarm which could sound at any point across the day (until the end of the Teatime show (7.30pm)). You had to then phone in (remember 01-637-4343?!!!) and if you made it to air you’d be asked 3 questions. Be the first to get all 3 right and you won the prize of the day.
Let’s be honest, we would’ve all LOVED to have won the “trip to Dallas to have your own cut recorded” prize!!!
I can’t complain though – I won one of the prizes on 31 Days in May in 1990. I was a Radio 1 DJ for a day!!!!!! (Got to go to a gig, record my own demo show at Egton House and be a guest on Mark Goodiers Show – plus record companies sent me loads of free stuff!). 😳 Keep it to yourself!
