If you haven’t been there recently..then take a look!
Norman has done a brilliant re-vamp..not only audio but tons of photos
and Correspondence letters between the BBC and PAMS!
I did not know that Radio One’s First Package cost $6,000
and love the letter to Bill Meeks saying they had decided to go to JAMS
(yes thats how its spelt!) for their Jingles in 1976! 😆http://www.normanb.net/index.htm
Hours of enjoyment!

I know Norman always had a lot of good stuff, but those letters are
originals?! And the guide sheets for the PAMS 1971 Radio One custom ?No doubt, on the Antiques Roadshow 2067 some of Norman’s “paperwork”
will be worth a mint !If you haven’t visited it yet gents, please do so … NOW !

May 25, 2006 at 11:27 am #21016SeanMartinWOW . . . I’m Gobsmacked!
That’s one hell of a fine site and just look at the amount of hours that went into it.
Is that a man with a passion . . . or what!?
My hat goes off to Norman. Top job.
Especially liked the correspondance and other paper bits which are so very rare. Even if Media Preservation, for example, has been able to rescue thousands of tapes from destruction, the paperwork, boxes, labels, artwork, etc is pretty much gone for good.

We have the complete BBC file from PAMS, which Norman photocopied. It’s one of the two station files that Mrs. Bill Meeks still had when we she allowed us to go through her files a few years ago. We also acquired the WLS file, which is about 500 pages of contracts, coorespondance, musical ideas/lyrics and so on. Further, Bill Meeks tape library also lives in our warehouse.
Norman’s redesigned site is “The Bomb”!

May 25, 2006 at 1:02 pm #21018BigdaveNorman’s site is one of the first I came about when I first got the internet 4 years ago,and since then has been saved as a favourite.
When he advised that he was to relaunch,I was wondering how he would improve on it. All I can say is the site is a real jewel of the internet -full of interesting pictures, documents (the letters and scores from PAMS and the BBC are enlightening to say the least),and audio.
Full marks Norman for having the time and inclination to make this available to all via the net – it does make you feel humble when someone offers access to his collection like this, and following recent comments here,is something we all could learn from.
