In answer to your Questions

Does Jam let you decide which vocal style or singers you want on the cuts?

Normally when you order Personal Cuts JAM uses THE DEMO as a standard point of reference for melodies and vocal sound, unless instructed otherwise so if you want anything that is diffrent from the DEMO
you need to specify that you want the jingle done in a non-standard way

The Price Quoted on the JAM website is for 5 or 7 Voice Group if you want a Jingle that has a Female Solo then this is Extra but you can always get a no obligation Quote in the 1st Place

If you can post a MP3 of the cut you have in mind most people will be able to identify who the person is or send a MP3 file to Jon when you ask for a quote

Yes I have always been pleased with the results the only downside from my point of view is the time it takes, in fairness the personal cuts are done on a time available and if you want a solo Girl or Boy this can add to the time

The female vocalist I refer to appears on some KEGL re-sings which are on the MP3 download section of this site, plus she also appears (amongst many others) on the Q101 cuts on the NBC demo.

None of my jingles have ever taken more than 4 weeks from date of order to dropping on the doormat. I’ve had cuts from vasrious packages resung and they do a really good job.
One thing with ordering a JAM jingles you don’t have to worry about is quality. Jon always gives feedback on the lyrics you request and flags up any issues or problems and is very helpful. I was having the word hour sung and John made sure if I wanted the american or english sing of hour used. Its attention to detail like that that make great jingles.

I took the plunge with my first JAM personal cut back in the autumn. It took 4-5 weeks, but I had requested a custom acappella because I wanted something unique.

Jon took great care over the pronunciation of “Barton” so that it has the English pronunciation of the final syllable (“un”) rather than the American (“on”).

I asked for a full rich 7-voice sound and sent the following brief, plus an MP3 of 2 cuts I particularly liked:

– rich female/male group
– longish doo-wah intros that change from slow to fast and maybe back to slow tempo: I’d perhaps use the intro for a talk-over bed
– lyric: “another mix of your all-time favourites … Geoff Barton”
– Note pronunciation of last vowel of Barton is a schwa, not the American “O” as in “ON”. Er … does that make any sense?
– Final bit – ie the name check, slow and classy, like the wonderful QUAD 104 (attached)
– If I had to choose between a slow and fast tempo, I’d prefer slow
