One of my 1st memories of a jingle that stuck in my head was one of the 80’s CBS-FM jingles, and I cant find it anywhere – it was the package that came before “Do It Again” (I think, anyways). Heres how it went:
“(falsetto) 101, (bass)CBS-FM, (falsetto) 101, (bass)CBS-FM, (falsetto) We play your favority oldies, CBS-Efff EMMM”
The bed music for it was the bed that Don K. Reed used all the time, and WOGL used the same jingle except it replaced ‘101’ with ’98’ and CBS-FM with ‘OGL-FM.’
BTW, did TM Century do any jingles for WOGL or WCBS-FM?
Thanks – willing to trade copies of the PAMS CBS-FM jingles for the 80’s packages….

September 18, 2005 at 12:38 am #17597ronfilMemberI forgot to mention that I believe these jingles are from the Otis Conner Drake Series 88 package, which was used on the FM
from 1988 until around 1992. Maybe someone could correct me if I’m wrong.Ron T.
September 18, 2005 at 3:24 pm #17599martinlesterMemberThanks for posting the OGL cuts
Great to listen to , You can hear how JAM has taken some of the Idea’s from this package and made the “Do It Again” sound
Especially with the Woosh SFX before the main vocal Hits
September 18, 2005 at 5:25 pm #17602TServo2049To Ron Turner,
These are definitely not Drake Series 88, or anything else by Otis Conner, or even anything from Dallas. I know that WCBS-FM and WOGL both used a package by Frank Gari (of “Hello (city)” TV image campaign fame), within the time frame of these jingles. So I’m guessing that these are those Frank Gari jingles.
September 18, 2005 at 5:57 pm #17603ronfilMember😥 I stand corrected. These were given to me on a CD a few years back. The title was “Drake 88” For WOGL. Obviously they aren’t from that package. Sorry about that.

September 18, 2005 at 11:46 pm #17606Jeffrey T. MasonMemberWOGL did run the Drake ’88 jingles for QUITE some time. They had just a couple cuts from the follow-up Drake ’89, and bought a number of cuts from Oldies ’90, as well.
What many DON’T remember is WIOQ, not WOGL, was the FIRST station in Philly to run the Drake ’88 package. After being AOR for many years, WIOQ flipped to oldies in November 1987, just hours ahead of WCAU-FM’s flip to WOGL. “Solid Gold 102” was most known for their re-sings of the PAMS classic from Ben Freedman’s CPMG. BUT, they also ran Drake ’88 cuts early on.
Here’s an example: http://www.jeffreyt.com/audio/WIOQ_Drake88.mp3
Oh, and PS…what happened to the HTML markup on these pages??? My sig looks goofy without it!!!

One of my favorite things about visiting my grandparents in New Jersey used to be hearing WCBS-FM’s awesome top of the hour jingle, the first cut here. Thanks for posting it!
October 26, 2005 at 12:57 am #18000lawlertWow is all I have to say….
I have so many memories of Oldies 98 & CBS-FM that these jingles help bring back…..so sad that WOGL-FM and CBS-FM are shadows of their former selves
