        Nice One Dan……
        Good Quality as well (192 k) :D
The JAM Dallas Vocals have always given that little bit more nicer sound than all the other Dallas companies……..
        What is Jon’s secret??
Is it as tight a secret as the recipe for Coca Cola? 😆

Thanks Vince, Pete… glad you enjoyed ’em.

Pete, I see what you mean about the vocals – JAM vocals are very rich; it’s all down to the production though. They use the same singers as TM Century. TMCI produced some great vocals in their time too, but when the Century 21 merge happened, things became a little flat. Obviously there are exceptions, but if you listen to some of the earlier TM Century cuts (resings especially), you’ll hear the vocals have been mixed down in mono, which (apparently) helps to disguise any inaccuracies in the singing!

The main Mercury package was actually 1984 with add-ons being produced in 1992.

Was it Jon Wolfert who did the sonovox of “more hits, more memories” on the BBC Radio York package :?:

I would say it sounds like Steve England

Can’t imagine it would be Steve. The package had nothing to do with him, as it was bought through David Arnold, with vocals produced in Dallas by JAM. Bizarre, considering he was still representing Century 21 at the time!

Did you know that a few of the early Carlin production CD’s have old David Arnold tracks on them – A few that spring to mind come from GWR’s 85 pkg, Radio West and Humbersides 84 set, and Cumbria’s 88 pkg! oh and a shortened version of the Invicta 84 theme!

Another point of interest (perhaps) is that BBC Newcastles 89 Jam pkg was sorted through David Arnold (before the alfasound/jam collaboration).

Yes I asked Steve england about this and he told me

Sounds like a nice package – and it sounds like David’s tracks – not sure if the tracks were recorded in Dallas – many of them seem to be based on old Pams cuts (like the smooth sailing cut). David did do a couple of packages at JAM before Jon decided to do a deal with me.
