Hi Folks,
Just added to the download section a seven minute montage of jingles, sweepers and promos from the Pulse of West Yorkshire which replaced Pennine FM in 1991.
Check it out here:
http://www.jinglemad.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=737The montage features jingles from the 1991 station launch, 1994 and 1995 packages from JAM Creative Productions (1994 was a JAM custom package), the 1998 and 2000 Vibe Music Imaging (Music 4) packages and a cut from the 2005 IQ Beats package. On top of that there is “The Power Of Yorkshire” song, promos for the “Chris Moyles Evening Bit” and “Alex Hall Phone In” and a whole lot of sweepers; some voiced by John Wells.
Enjoy!

Glad you liked it Paul – 23 downloads to date and you’re the first to comment. Thanks; it took a good few hours last night to put that together!
Incidentally, whilst on the subject of Pulse jingles, has anyone got the re-sing of Turbo Z cut 10 from the 1991 package which was re-sung for the Chris Moyles Evening Bit? The end sing on the original from the 1991 package went “The Pulse (The Pulse [Sono]) FM”. The Chris Moyles re-sing went “The Pulse (The Pulse [Sono]) Chris Moyles”. I know it’s a bit of a long shot. It would be great to hear it again. Anyone have an off-air sample maybe?

Glad you liked it Nicky. I’ve no idea on the “Power Of Yorkshire” song so I guess it’s over to anyone out there who can shed some light on it.
On the subject of Pulse jingles, I’ve just realised I’ve got another Pulse JAM jingle missing from my collection. It is a cut from the “Energy2” package and was sung for the “Alex Hall Phone-In” around 1994.
Here is is in it’s original form as sung for NRJ Radio, France. Anybody got it?
Incidentally, before anybody asks, the Alex Hall cut featured on my montage came later and was from the 1995 package.
April 23, 2005 at 8:14 pm #15950RjMAdd another to the loved it list mark,
Those couple of “Energy” re-sings are top stuff, a great package, but even more so ‘cos I love hearing jingles sung with a slogan end tag instead of the station name (In To The Beat, The Hot FM etc.)
Also, ’til today, having only heard the package once or twice before on the ALFA tapes, I’d always presumed for some reason that the ’94 package was ALFA tracks with JAM sings, probably because its so different (good different) and distinctive with its pulse beats, but listening to it again you’re right it is custom JAM, it’s never been demoed by them though has it?
Question for anyone who knows: The Hurst & Hilton breakfast song at the end is (I’m fairly sure) a Top Format re-sing, also heard on MFM and CFM, but from what package?
April 23, 2005 at 9:01 pm #15951RobinBlamiresThe Hirst and Hilton cut was from the “Good Morning” Top Format package.

No it hasn’t been demoed. Here’s the proof that the 1994 Pulse jingle package is a JAM custom (courtesy of the Jingle Ark). This is a great download if you haven’t got it.
April 24, 2005 at 9:10 am #15953DevawebMemberMark,
Thanks so much for making that montage – I’ve just forwarded it on to a friend of mine who used to work at The Pulse… and it turns out he made that Alex Hall promo! He was really chuffed to hear it again.
Top stuff,
Chris

So for the recordThanks
April 27, 2005 at 3:48 pm #16004m_hodgeyMemberAuthorRegarding the “Turbo Z” #10 re-sing for the Chris Moyles Evening Bit I mentioned earlier, here is an off-air recording I’ve managed to find; actually my brother dug it out from one of his old jingle tapes so thanks bro! Anybody got a clean version?
On the subject of Pulse JAM add-on jingles I haven’t got, I have also discovered there was a re-work of “Turbo Z” #26 (The Morning Song) from the 1991 package sung for Seymour. Anybody got this one?
April 27, 2005 at 8:19 pm #16006MartinSMark,
Thanks for posting such a great montage – it brought loads of memories flooding back.
It was nice especially to hear some of the Energy2 cuts again. Most of them were stuck in my head having not heard them for several years! Clearly remember both Alex Hall cuts as I was a big fan in the mid 1990s.
With regards to the Chris Moyles TurboZ cut 10 – interestingly that was also used when he covered Sunday evenings on Radio Aire FM in early 1993 (minus the Pulse vocal of course). They mixed JJ Mackay “on Yorkshire’s Best… Radio Aire FM” v/os over top, culminating in a sung “The number one choice… Chris Moyles”.
