How cool are they – I don’t care what anyone says Alfasound jingles still give me a tingle 🙄 ( for all the good reasons )

Brings back memories of having the tape recorder ready to record the Invicta jingles as they were played out of the ads or the news! And hoping that the DJ didn’t talk off the back of it or play a song over the end bit of the vocal!

The “right across the county” package and the 2 subsequent Alfasound packages are very very difficult to find in their entirety. We know Steve England has them but the original tape is very delicate and would be very time-consuming to transfer onto digital format, shame. If anybody ever comes across these, I think there would be a fair few people who would end up pretty happy to get a copy fo the full packages! Fingers crossed for one day…..!

Yes,I too hoped they wouldn’t run the jingle straight into the record!

I have loads of tapes of Invicta Alfasound material and am trying to sort out the cleanest copy of each cut to make a compilation which although is off air material is better than nothing.
I know I have a lot of cuts not on the 3 Alfasound demos.
Having said that,I think the 2nd demo – the Invicta Stereo cuts – is pretty complete as I know it was a small package and I have never heard anything that’s not on that demo.

I am currently trying to locate the travel bed from package 1 which I know I have…somewhere!!!

If only I had labelled the tapes :(

Anyone guess what would have happened to all the carts from the Invicta Radio Canterbury and Maidstone studios after the Alfasound material was finished with ?

In the Vaults or in a skip ?

                  Yeh – you’re right.

                  Me too!

The Alfasound collector tapes were an essential part of growing up! LOL!

The Invicta Stereo cuts were great, they even aired some of these alongside the ’89 Century 21 composite.

Invicta Radio also had some great cuts sung by Alfasound for their Ashford ‘opt-out’ service.
