It’s not released yet, but RW will release a new classic hits package soon. It’s currently heard on some iHeart stations.
https://soundcloud.com/lawrence-simmons-d/whof-canton-sunny-1017-unknown-reelworld-jingles-custom
It’s currently heard on:
1390 KRRZ – Minot, ND
Big 101.3 – Grand Rapids, WI
Big 99.3 – Tupelo, MS
Sunny 101.7 – Canton, OH
107.9 WSRZ – Sarasota, FLJanuary 1, 2022 at 3:36 am #106929jaydohertyMemberYes. These are currently heard on the ‘Cool Oldies’ iHeart channel, lyriced mainly with ‘Cool Oldies on iHeart Radio’
January 1, 2022 at 5:29 pm #106932firetypecinderaceMemberAuthorKool 104.5 (KKFG-FM) in Bloomfield, NM is also using this package too.
And to me, I think it’s currently heard on iHeart-owned classic hits stations in small or medium markets, with some large markets.
January 1, 2022 at 6:33 pm #106933mjb1124MemberMust be some sort of iHeart/Premium Choice/Premiere network deal, perhaps designed to fit the designated ID breaks in their network feeds. Might not be available to non-affiliated stations?
I kinda like these actually. Although they’re in the same stylistic wheelhouse as the K-Hits and CBS-FM packages, I find them to be more melodic and have a better flow to them. The logo used on the WHOF versions in particular is nice and distinctive too – always good to hear an attempt to make the “seven” at the end of a frequency sing stand out in a nice way.
January 1, 2022 at 6:54 pm #106934firetypecinderaceMemberAuthorI hope this package will be featured on the RW website soon unlike the Delilah jingles.
January 1, 2022 at 10:52 pm #106936TigerQ105MemberIn my opinion, Reelworld did try to modernize the world of classic hits jingles, and they delivered.
And they have been doing it since they released Majic 102 and WODJ packages in the late 90’s.If this were meant to be released, it can accompany the classic sounds of the K-Hits or the CBS FM package they released previously.
So far, this is Reelworld at its finest bringing classic oldies back into the modern radio through the medium of radio jingles.
But wait… there’s actually more stations airing this package. Who knew this would be part of their Cool Oldies format, with their familiar sounding jingles?

January 1, 2022 at 11:15 pm #106937JustinSaysRadioAlso, who knew that they would bring Tim Davis back to do part of the male vocals on here? It is awesome to finally hear him on new Reelworld packages, again.
January 2, 2022 at 4:08 am #106938firetypecinderaceMemberAuthorThere might be more but, I think these following stations are not airing this:
103.7 80s Plus (San Francisco) – Still using the KIIS 2007 package.
95.7 The Jet (Seattle) – Same as above.
Kool 108 (Twin Cities) – Still using Bob FM packages.
99.9 KGOR (Omaha) – Still using Wisebuddah’s Boom 973 package.
Majic 105.7 (Cleveland) – Still using RW’s WCBS FM 2018 package.
95.7 Big FM (Milwaukee) – Same as above.
Seaview 104.9 (Solana, FL) – Still using Thompson Creative packages.
106.7 The Eagle (Portland) – Still using WCBS FM 2018 package.January 2, 2022 at 9:33 pm #106940firetypecinderaceMemberAuthorBig 106.5 in Quad Cities are using this too.

January 3, 2022 at 1:33 pm #106947firetypecinderaceMemberAuthorIt’s not true yet, but I feel like KLOU in St. Louis is using it.

January 4, 2022 at 1:17 am #106951mjb1124MemberThat’s the “Cool FM” package, not the same one heard on other stations mentioned here.
This package is, however, being used on the Big Classic Hits and Real Oldies feeds, as well as the aforementioned Cool Oldies. Not a good fit for Real Oldies at all in my opinion, but clearly iHeart believes in the “one size fits all” approach.

I think Reelworld should consider creating another jingle package influenced by the original WODJ package, which features real instrumentals which does fit the Real Oldies format, if iHeart might consider.

Agreed. What’s next? These jingles being on a CHR station with the same copy-and-paste technology?

To be honest, that’s probably the way it is for Reelworld. I do, however, expect them to up their game when it comes to creativity. Whatever happened to them? I guess iHeart thinks that this one custom package will fit the oldies/classic hits format, but to me, this one felt too rhythmic for iHeart’s Real Oldies format.
My advice to Reelworld is that when you’re making a custom jingle package for Real Oldies stations, or any oldies stations which plays mostly 50s, 60s or 70s songs, at least they should blend in some real instrumentals influenced by popular oldies music and the familiar vocals that Tim Davis has been crafting out for the past many years. Just like what they did with the WODJ package.
But seeing how iHeart thinks that this Reelworld’s custom package fits all oldies/classic hits format is just flat out embarrassing. At least they can do better, if they have the guts to.

But at the same time, that post is definitely out of topic. We’re talking about the Cool Oldies package here.
Sorry if it bothers you. -
