Hi everyone!
Being a WGN fan and a JAM fan, I’ve been recording some JAM jingles off of WGN Chicago’s TuneIn livestream for the past year or so. Back in 2019, when Nexstar acquired Tribune Media, WGN added JAM jingles from a variety of packages. JAM recently added to the original WGN composite package (done in 2019) and there are still more cuts I haven’t heard in full, but, considering the collection has grown, I figured I’d post what I have for anyone who may be interested. 90% of the cuts in the following montage were recorded for free off of the WGN TuneIn stream and the other 10% are from Mr. Jonathan Wolfert’s free Rewound Radio internet broadcast on January 12, 2020 where he talked about — and played — some WGN jingles for about 10 minutes. The cuts are labeled in the order they play, below. The last jingle’s tag was re-sung in November 2020 as a gift from JAM to WGN’s John Landecker who formerly worked at WLS Chicago. Enjoy!
The cuts in the montage are labeled in order as follows:

Does anyone happen to know what package this cut is from? I think it is a short version of something but unsure of what package it comes from.
November 25, 2020 at 10:59 pm #105385RadioboyMemberOver the summer, I began listening to WGN when Rollye James started her stint to (originally) fill in for a while, which seems to have become an ongoing gig for her. I noticed over the past few months more & more of these jingles were being rolled out, & they’ve made the station more enjoyable to listen to.
Thanks for posting this montage livelocal247, It’s Terrific!

That sounds like Variety Pack Cut 9 with the VOA Europe instrumental logo. A lot of the cuts in Variety Pack were originally written for VOA Europe, and cut 9 appears to be one of them.

Interesting… thanks for identifying that cut! It sounded like it would be from Variety Pack but I couldn’t find an exact match. It makes sense now that I know there have been multiple mixes done!

Of course. Happy to help. The WGN version was also a shorter mix of that cut.
November 27, 2020 at 4:42 am #83902glenCongrats to Randy Bell from JAM and the folks from WGN who selected the cuts. Randy helped to make sure the lyrics fit..
November 28, 2020 at 2:07 am #83922jaydohertyMemberAuthorOf course, a couple days after I post the original compilation, WGN debuts some of their holiday jingles. If there are more, I’ll be sure to post them once I hear!
The above cuts, in order, are:
First Step #16 – Merry Christmas Chicago – From WGN
Nothing But Class #3 – Merry Christmas – WGN
Nothing But Class #4 – Christmas is – WGN
Variety Pack #3 – We’re Chicago’s Very Own – Home For The Holidays – WGNAll from WGN’s Free TuneIn livestream; jingles produced by JAM Creative Productions. Dallas, TX.

and in Chicago no less.It is good to hear! Does anyone have any airchecks of jingles from Top News, Talking Points, or Talktrax actually being used on WABC back in the early 2000’s around the time they were being produced?
