Hello guys! I need your help! I am trying to see if there are any station that have used any of the custom KOST packages from Reelworld, but using their Nashville Vocal Group that has had a few redos since 1996 instead of their new, “Contemporary”, vocal group. Has that ever happened?

Hi Justin do you have some demoes/examples of that Nashville Vocal Group? I couldn’t say I would recognize them…

I think I hear the difference but might it be also the edit and mix? It seems less ‘screamy’, less aggresive, more in harmony.

I mean the vocal group that is lead by Tim Davis.

Can someone help me clarify to Marc what I mean? I might be confusing him.

MemberMaybe post a clip of the other non-“Tim Davis” vocal group for comparison?

I was involved in a lot of jingle productions and every voice makes a big difference in the final sound of a jingle. It’s like 1% can change 100% of a harmony. Thanks for sharing, Justin, very interesting.
When I listen to American radio it seems the tone of voice is more energetic, faster, than in Europe. That goes for the jingles as well for the on air talents. I’m not used to it, it stresses me out. I like a quite, moderate style. But that’s maybe a matter of taste, or culture…

Have you ever heard a KOST Reelworld resing with the first vocal group that I showcased? If so, will you provide evidence of that station using that vocal group with a KOST Reelworld package?

We use JAM and Top Format and Brandy at our stations…

I just discovered this news story about the Nashville vocal group possibly being used for the first KOST Christmas Package: https://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/145457/kost-l-a-partners-with-reelworld-for-christmas-jin
Could this lead us to FINALLY finding a KOST Resing with the Nashville/Tim Davis vocal group? Hopefully, it does!

Less screamy.
It might halfway worth listening to.February 1, 2021 at 11:16 am #105820MarcMannetje
glen;c-75213 wrote:Less screamy.Glen and others: most media personalities in the US seem to scream. News reporters, hosts, traffic guys and weather girls. And therefore the jingles too. Is this cultural? I don’t judge it, there is just a big difference with for example the German vocal presentation style (melodic, quiet, calm, more peaceful)…

Marc; I Wouldn’t use word ‘most’. Back in day they did. But not now. Its more directed toward the music formats. The thing that bothers me is stations that screamy vocals for the country music formats. There is a place for everything, but that’s not it.

Thanks Glen. I meant tv hosts too, they seem to ‘shout’ and talk with loud voices, from CNN to Fox News. German/Dutch/French television hosts seem to have different styles. I was a lot in the states in the 90s/00s and as I remember well also radio was less ‘screamy’ back then…

MemberI ‘ear-magined’ a Reelworld cut I had done being sung by the same vocal group that worked on resings for ‘The Breeze’ in the UK, it was a Breeze used cut, I thought it would be sung the same, but when it was delivered it wasn’t a harmony group, it was a solo female vocal stacked and this altered the feel of the cut, but who was I to argue so I accepted the work, it was after all only one cut I’d ordered. But it got me thinking that maybe cuts ordered via Reelworld Europe, especially single cut orders might be sung by a Euro vocalist, and not a US vocal group at all. Whereas with the budget The Breeze had it would warrant cuts being sung by the US vocal group.

Dubbing several different voices makes every production sound richer and fuller.
