After 4 months of not being able to have a group of singers in the studio at the same time because of coronavirus concerns, we were finally able to record some jingles again. Each singer was on a separate mic, widely separated, with towel-covered plexiglass baffles to further contain breaths. (Thanks to Rosana for her plexiglass improv skills). Everyone wore special singer masks that have extra space around the mouth to not interfere with diction. (Thanks to Rosana’s mom for her sewing improv skills). We didn’t need the usual “pop screens” in front of the mics because the singers were essentially wearing them instead. We were able to get the right sound in spite of the odds. Thanks, to the group and to our clients for hanging in there during challenging times. Be safe.

            This *may* work ?

PS – the most mind-bogling “studio sound screening” I’ve seen since the days of RSN and BTRS with their cardboard egg boxes!
            :^)

PPS – looking forwards to seeing how Jon will be “doing” sonovox!

First example I’ve heard of the new recording technique: Don Blesse’s personal version of Turbo Z cut 10.
You can definitely hear the difference, but it still sounds great – gives it a little bit of a fresher and more modern feel if anything. https://soundcloud.com/dab1100/dblesse-track01?fbclid=IwAR1-acNOfayGUzMGsdw75yyN_UGFXf_RQXyv3BjkGxUQH-XIBANni-_hugo

Wow. That’s quite a change. Was wondering what this new technique sounded like. Thanks for posting.
