So gave the folks at TM a ring a month ago inquiring about the possibility of getting some cuts from various syndicated WBZ packages from the 1970s and 1980s resung. However, I’ve not heard back.

Did you speak to a human? If yes, ring back and ask ’em what’s the score(!)

No, I left a voicemail. I can’t remember the woman’s name at the moment, but I think she was a sales rep.

Probably tired from the holiday season.

He left it a month ago & didn’t speak to a human. I’m sure the “holiday season” isn’t relevant in this case.

Noah, as you’re under age, maybe they thought you can’t pay for any cuts e.g. by credit card?

Another problem is that many of the “classic” packages’ master tracks were thrown out back in the day. It’s depressing, disappointing, and downright infuriating to see that lack of care and preservation. We’re very fortunate to have some great collectors who have salvaged and remastered many of those in the years since, which made them available through the former iJingles program. Now…who knows?

Good Point even when IJingles was up and running I am sure a lot of the “Classic” TM Cuts only was available due to the Excellent work that TC put in

I ordered a re-sing of an Ullman jingle about a year or so ago from TM–spoke with Greg Clancy who got things going for me.

I have absolutely no words. What a total disgrace.

So I’m now guessing that either they didn’t think it worth calling me back, or they don’t have the masters. I hope it turns out to be the former, but I’m not optimistic at this point.

Any extant masters, multi-tracks or sub-masters that aren’t digitized (yet? ever?) will be in the safe hands of TC I’m sure.

But I know from the iJingles days that to pull-out the archived track of one “ancient” cut for one Personal Cut order is likely not a
viable proposition financially or technically; if someone or a station is willing to go the whole hog and fund a “special”, well who knows?

PS – Len Groat being able to choose the superb 1972 WMAQ Sound of Chicago song a wee while back is something that might happen
very rarely unless a digital version already existed for an earlier client?

Well, in case you’re interested which packages I wanted to snag things from, they were WBZ 1976 and WBZ ’85. Here’s a montage of the cuts I wanted to order. The demos don’t have cut numbers, which is a pain.

Nice cuts full of TM fun!
I was disappointed that the TM “You” song cut ( the one that was added after the rest of the package was written was not available / in the archive.

                                Noah-
I’m pretty sure the ’76 track isn’t available (other than on an archived, encoded multitrack tape, so forget it) and as for the ’85 cuts, you’re looking at silly money to have them sung, even if the tracks are around – somewhere just short of $2000 at a guess. Just wondering if you have that kind of budget? ;) :)
                                Nice cuts, btw ;)

According to his website.Noah is 15 so that’s why I said earlier that he would perhaps not seem to be a serious customer in respect of purchasing cuts via normal_to_adult financial channels

Actually, the reason Len was able to get that cut sung was because I did a 1-to-1 digital transfer of “The Sound Of Chicago” 1/2″ 4-track reduction vocal master reel back in 2001. There were a number of “classic” TM packages which I transferred and indexed. So when he wanted the cut sung, the transfer I did was used for the sing. Ditto for the Design ’72 Carpenters cut he had sung and also for Ron Sedaille’s cuts sung from “Where Your Friends Are”.
