theres a little ‘blackbox’ that’s pretty neat for cleanups. it is an aphex aural exciter. used these run around $25-$40 usd.
for analog transfers its a wonder. simple operation too. pretty much trial and error…..try that.

        Thanks for that Bob…

I’ve done some analogue-tape-to-digital “recovery” on a number of occasions in the past, however what
I’m looking at here is REPLACING my ancient analogue piles of oxide with digital files that might be already
recovered by other people in other places – as Ken R did with so much of the PAMS reference reels. Many
of the tapes I got directly from stations back then had equivalent backup dubs at PAMS, those of course
ended up with Ken (…and now needless to say are in VERY safe hands!…)

I’ve also been using “clean up” software of varying kinds for over 20 years, although I don’t consider myself
to be any kind of expert. Most of my ancient reels are VERY far gone, and my two knackered 1970s semi-pro
tape machines went last September to a local radio museum’s people for breaking for spares!)

Looks like nothing appearing on the CKEY item – unless anyone has a copy of KenR Collection M58,
which I believe might have CKEY PAMS 20, but I’m not sure if its the same composite or not?

          Another one to try…

This is unfortunately one “side” of what was a stereo 3&3/4 IPS tape from CKFM 99.9, which back then
was the FM owned by CFRB 1010 Toronto. And very few of us had stereo reel-to-reel machines back then.

I’ve no idea who/what the package/producer was, although the vocals sound like they “could” be “Dallas” ?
