Heart ’17 has been posted on SoundCloud
Listen to Heart UK ReelWorld Jingles 2017 by ReelWorld Europe #np on #SoundCloud
https://soundcloud.com/reelworldeurope/heart-uk-reelworld-jingles-2017I think they sound ok, though quite similar to what they’ve been using. The cuts towards the end sound better.
I heard a Heart ’80s sung cut last night. Doesn’t work, with the emphasis on the last syllable. Heart EighTIES.
Maybe they should have branded it as “80s Heart” to make the jingle resings work?
March 23, 2017 at 12:41 pm #101373rakMemberAuthorI’m surprised they haven’t had a couple of cuts resung with a selection of locations, eg North East, North West, South West, Cornwall, Midlands, Yorkshire’s Heart, and trigger them pre-dipped to be played out as the ‘First in Break’ from the regions. Then dry-voice the link to break from London, and finish with branded local jingles into the breaks.
Would also work as ‘Last in Break’ for shotguns with local sung jingles.
Singing ‘This is Heart’ is a wasted branding opportunity
March 23, 2017 at 7:40 pm #101374SpoonsHeart EightTIES sounds much better than Heart ExtRAAAARR!
March 24, 2017 at 10:18 am #101375rakMemberAuthorPerhaps Turbo Z or Skywave would have fitted better. TOTH from Turbo Z singing “Heart 80s – from Global” (or maybe not!)

Agree it sounds a bit odd how they’ve fitted ‘Heart Eighties’ into the regular Heart jingles. Also agree that it would have worked better from a jingle resing perspective as 80’s Heart.
Would they have decided against naming it that to make sure the Heart stations stay grouped on a DAB tuner guide? It appears to be alphabetically sorted on both my DAB radios.
March 27, 2017 at 11:15 pm #101382LenGroatSadly, regardless of these ‘McDonald’s jingles’….. nearly everywhere you go in the UK now…
… “you gotta have heart…”

Good point re the alphabetical listings on DAB. One possible option is to bring the “Heart 80s” vocal in one beat later, singing “Heart” where they’d normally sing “is”, and nothing over “This”.
“Eighties” or “Extra” is sung over the last beat, similarly to how the “Hundred” on Z100 was often sung by JAM.March 28, 2017 at 3:36 pm #101389glenSimilar to the ones on WCBS FM; the vocals don’t fit!!
March 28, 2017 at 3:39 pm #101390IainJohnstonNot long back I found a French jingle website that described how jingles were evolved for France Bleu to let them
“carry” the names of ALL of their (now 40+) local / regional /city stations, and the 4-chord pads at the end of each
cut can take 2, 3, 4, 5 and more syllable names e.g. Pays de Sav-oire (down Sean M’s way), Pic-ar-die, and so on.Originally by Freeway Paris, the subsequent producers use the same effective technique.
Maybe RP and RW should play this video as an excellent example of “how to do it”? (The wheel doesn’t need to be re-invented…)

topic – I now feel I’m a right edjit!) -
