Despite the punishing dollar/pound exchange rate, I couldn’t let another Christmas go by without buying some more JAM personal cuts.
So … this time:
Closer to the Music #20:
“Funky music from a hunky guy: feel-good favourites with Geoffy B”
(I’ve included the brilliant short ramp version which I’d never heard before, then the acapella version)Christmas Kit 1:
The Geoff Barton Festive Mix
I asked JMW to choose a different logo for this.
(Main cuts, plus acapella)Enjoy. I am thrilled with them.

I’ve always loved those Christmas Kit cuts.December 8, 2016 at 8:16 pm #100928IainJohnstonOh Aye!
Can this “delivery” mean that “certain other recent Personal Cuts orders” might well be nearing completion? ;^)Geoff, may I politely ask if the Christmas Kit came as the price of a single cut, as hinted in the original JAM demo
for actual station clients that would buy the kit, or whether it doesn’t quite work that way under Personal Cuts?
(… but please don’t say anything that might be outwith “commercial in confidence”).IJ

IJYes.
December 8, 2016 at 10:40 pm #100930IainJohnstonThanks Geoff
I suspect a few people may well have missed a trick on that one!
PS – did many people realise in the “last chance saloon” period of iJingles/TM, that if an “alt” lyric version of a cut was ordered at the same time, the 2nd version could be done at a fraction of the standard price of the first version?
A sort of “buy one, get one half-price” or whatever type deal – since the backing track was “already set up” so easier to do a different lyric.(I don’t know if JMW has ever perhaps considered offering something like that for Personal Cuts?)

Think I might have misled you by misunderstanding your question. The Christmas Kit jingle was bought as a single personal cut. Because it provides four different jingles, plus the acapella, it’s a different cost to the basic personal cut, but NOT (as I had thought you were asking) anything like the cost of buying four different jingles.
Sorry to be dim. JMW will, of course, discuss options and costs before any order is finally placed.
Now … back to my new year jingle wishlist …

December 9, 2016 at 12:51 pm #100934GrahamCollinsI think everyone who has ordered selected cuts from the Christmas Kit is aware of the three tracks provided – you don’t have to ask for them, they are part of the deal. It just follows the demo, and must be relatively easy for Jon to record and mix, just one customised line.
December 9, 2016 at 5:19 pm #100935LenGroatAs always a great choice of tracks, superbly sung by the JAM team !
Happy Christmas Geoffrey B.

December 10, 2016 at 10:30 am #100939RAVEJam-Closer To The Music cut-20 was the first jingle I loved.
First hearing it on Mark Goodier’s MegerHits on BBC Radio 1FM back in 1992!
Since then I’ve tried to find out as much as I can about that jingle.
I’ve heard a number of versions, but not that short version.
All these years later, it can still hold it’s own! Nice!December 10, 2016 at 11:17 am #100940UKJinglesMemberDefinitely the Best “Christmas Package” of all time (Short and to the point!)
Both the fast and slow Tempo versions….
Didn’t the ‘Christmas Kit’ originate from Music K (Kershaw) Productions?
This shows why Jon has been at the top for all these years, When I ordered my cuts he asked if I wanted different lyrics so at no extra cost I got “We wish you a Jingley Christmas” as well as the normal versions!December 10, 2016 at 6:16 pm #100941ratnobMemberAuthor“We wish you a Jingley Christmas”
You always were the master of lyrics

December 12, 2016 at 11:19 am #100947DuncanNewmarchMember“Have you felt a tingle, can you hear the jingle?” has to be my favourite Christmas lyric. Merry Christmas Geoff!
