http://rewoundradio.comMay 21, 2016 at 9:00 pm #100122PKMemberMr Wolfert with his fabtastic music and jingle collection blasting out very loud of the WiFi Radio in the PK household right now!
May 21, 2016 at 9:33 pm #100123DuncanNewmarchMemberBoz Scaggs, always needs Tony Blackburn playing a “Radio 1…247” sonovox. The Carpenters multitrack example was really interesting.
May 21, 2016 at 9:39 pm #100124IainJohnstonEr, I hope someone’s making sure they’ve a “bag” of it or can get a download later?
May 21, 2016 at 10:23 pm #100126PPMWow, that WABC JAM jingle montage was awesome.
May 21, 2016 at 10:58 pm #100127DuncanNewmarchMemberNever heard that Barry Manilow song before

May 23, 2016 at 8:50 am #100137IainJohnstonI hope that a download or audio capture will appear…
…this comment on the NYRB looks intriquing!“Jon’s “how to make a jingle” demonstration, using the Carpenters’ overdubs as a starting point, was extremely entertaining. Those of us who were or still are in radio understand the concept; but for non-media people, listening to Jon bring a jingle to life had to have been educational. Well done, Jon!”

May 24, 2016 at 11:03 am #100157LenGroatThere are basically 2 types of dj’s….
No. 1. … those who want to be famous, rich, constantly in the news, who do a formulaic show every day or can’t communicate without a ‘team’ in the studio with them, who play exactly what they are told, never criticise the station music or jingles, and are basically performing parrots: e.g. from ‘oft we jolly well go’ to ‘This is Heart”….
No. 2. … then there are people who are selective about which station they will work for, because they LOVE radio and don’t want to help destroy its Art, who say something fresh every link, KNOW the songs, and choose the jingles to ‘work’ in or out of the songs…. (sadly these are a dying breed..)
Then – uniquely – there is Jon! He’s a ‘3’ !
All of No.2 + some secret ingredients. Who better to ‘play’ the jingles between the songs than the man who created the World’s Longest Lasting jingle company, who has WABC/WLS/WCBS/KIIS/KOST/KCBQ/WDRC/WBLI/Z100 (and all these others) running through his veins and brain.
It’s impossible to analyse any further HOW and WHY I enjoyed the GREAT show – but it did make me look at my cliches! And I just wish I could ‘jump aboard a time machine’, book JAM for a whole week, and fly in all of the 5th Dimension – imagine!
May 24, 2016 at 3:12 pm #100158tyty21I already know that show was a hit! no questions asked!
