if stuart carlson can make a 1 and a half to 2 hour montage, I’m pretty darn sure I can make a montage that’s larger than life! I’m currently in the works doing a 2016 all-star jingle montage for end of spring-summer. this all-star montage includes all companies, from the #1 choice for jingles, to the leading jingle company that makes great radio, and everybody in between. these montages are ones I’ll do annually.

Ever tried reading say a detective novel where the author likes to do a single paragraph that’s the full length of the page?
VERY tiring. And the “plot is lost”.Constructively, always try to place oneself “in the ears of the beholder”.
Many audio montages etc on e.g. s/c don’t have the Download function enabled (and separate downloaders are often
now crammed with ads and clickbait). No “download” isn’t a problem really if an audio item is under 5-10 minutes, for
listening in realtime on a PC or whatever. The audio becomes “throw-away”.
Or can be “grabbed” serially by an audio editor or whatever for listening later. But how many can even take/spare the time to listen to something much longer in one chunk?
Even if on the drive home. Or dipping back in every now & again.Better to have several logical but sequential “audio chapters”.
Less can be more.Hope that helps :^)
IJMay 19, 2016 at 6:39 pm #100110tyty21trust me ian, I’ve tried, doesn’t work. However, when it comes to montages, I’m a sucker for big ones. I guess I can do them in parts, but for those that can handle a huge montage, then we’ll talk. I can make 2 versions of them.
May 20, 2016 at 3:01 pm #100112michiMemberI like long montages, especially if my cuts are included.
May 20, 2016 at 3:32 pm #100113DuncanNewmarchMemberHave to say that I prefer long montages, I spend 2 hours a day in the car and they make the journey so much better. I tend not to download 1 minute montages because they’re finished before I can drive out of the street. Go for it tyty21!

May 20, 2016 at 9:01 pm #100118rakMemberI’d say go for it! Can you post a link to the MP3, so we can download it to our phones for car/train journeys? [or enable download on Soundcloud]

of course! once I’ve got it together, I’ll post a link. I’ve sort of slowed down on the soundcloud use for a while, plus, IDK if this one would go on. but Yes, I’ll be sure to post a link!
May 22, 2016 at 1:21 am #100130tyty21the only reason I wanted to do a big sort of montage is because I’ve heard a few JM’ers do some big ones. Neal, and the legal toth montage which was about 30 or so minutes, Justin and the old superfeast montages he used to do was about 30 minutes, except for his last one, which was almost an hour, and another jingle collector, Stuart Carlson, his first ever big montage, which BTW made it on to the jinglenews site, made a 90 minute montage. the last one he did, was a cooperative montage with stuart and I, and this one sort of is. I won’t tell you what stations you’ll hear, but I’ll tell you this, for those who are Dallas fans, you’re in for some surprises! Same could be said for seattle fans as well.

I like the way you loked at that! I listened to a montage that lasted a train ride and back home!

OK then, I’ll make 2 versions! for those who wanna hear it in whole, and a version for those who wanna hear it in parts.
