@Jim Donahue: Thanks for posting those. It seems some of that imaging was dropped from current use (I like to 880 on my daily commute as my local station has little to listen to. It was a blast to hear the former top of the hour sounders as well as the 9:30am opener. The highlight was the traffic sounder in the clear.

Thanks, Jim Donahue. Great to hear these in the clear and full length. My favorite station here in NYC; I listen all the time. Wish they had sung jingles again.

I think they have some of the best instrumental news beds. I’ve never heard any sung jingles on 880 – it must be quite a while since they used them. It would be great if any of you guys had some samples to post…………..

There’s no doubt the news beds make the sound of WCBS 880 sound distinctly very different to its 101.1 FM sister station and more in line with the news themes used on CBS TV news shows.
