So there I Was with BBC Radio Berkshire playing in my van whilst delivering Parcels in Ash Vale this morning….when I heard Tony Blackburn saying “He would be talking Jingles later!”
By 12.30 I was delivering in Pirbright and the dreadful BBC Surrey was bleeding over 104.1 MHz and I could just make out Tony talking to Roy in the BBC Radio Berkshire studio about Jingles and JingleMad Radio..
You can hear in the clear (for the next 30 days) at this link;-

It’s about 2 hours 40 minutes in to the show!

Can’t wait to hear the new “Pick of The Pops” Jingles!
Incidentally the Old PAMS Sono Jingle was produced by CPMG when Tony was at BBC Radio London in the mid 1980’s

Great to hear Tony & Roy talk jingles on Radio Berkshire today.

Some very good comments about jingles and radio from both of them too.

New jingles on the way for Pick Of The Pops heh! ;-) JingleJAMtastic! PAMSational!

            That’s okay jonno..
Maybe you could upload it to SoundCloud so that our friends outside the UK can hear it…..
I wish I’d known that you were doing this Roy as I would have sent/reminded you of those Pepper Tanner POTP Cuts Ben Freedman did…..
That would of thrown Tony! :-)

              Great interview!

How interesting to hear Tony say the reason he wanted to move from Caroline to ‘Big L’ was the PAMS jingles – they were one of the reasons I used to listen to ‘Big L’ for 10 hours a day from ’64 onwards!

In the same way Len that listening to Beacin 303 at launch and those great Emison jingles kick started my interest, fascination & obsession with radio jingles as a 12 year old kid 12 years later in April 1976!

Yes Pete I’d have loved to hear Tony’s reaction to those Pepper Tanner Pick Of The Pops resings too!

Yes PK. Beacon’s first package was what clicked me onto jingles at the age of 14. Then it got even better in 1978 with the TM “You” resings.
