I was looking though the Weird Jingles exhibit on Ken R’s Jingle Samplers website until I stumbled across this demo from Alfasound Tapetrix which he posted on the website back in 2018: http://jinglesamplers.com/audio/TapetrixCustomVoicesHospitalSongs&SonotronicsDemo.mp3
I listened to the demo and heard a lot of jingles for more obscure and lesser known radio stations, which surprised me.
It also has some cuts for different DJs, including Geoff Barton. It mainly comprised of hospital radio stations, but also has some BBC, IBA, pirate and student stations.
DJs and Stations in the musical tracks demo:
NHR (Nottingham Hospital Radio)
Robin Eccles
Island Radio
Radio Kidderminster
BBC Radio Deeside
Beacon Radio
Centre Radio
Radio Lonsdale
Anne Royal
Radio Ales
Gateway Radio
Jubilee Radio
Radio Tomshore
Tony Allen
(U-Danube?) Radio
Carnival Radio
Radio Caroline
Channel 3 Big K
University Radio Bath (URB)
Geoff Barton
Dave Conway
BBC Radio WalesJuly 27, 2023 at 7:20 am #109258gameswizardMemberI once heard that Roy Norry acapella on air donkeys years ago on Radio Merseyside.
Tagged onto the end of it was (part of) a JAM jingle which went “from the BBC” which, if I remember rightly, had some nice guitar chords on it.July 29, 2023 at 9:41 am #109261Laotian_12_inMemberAuthorThe station what came before Carnival Radio in the demo was actually Blue Danube Radio, which was an Austrian radio station owned by the public service broadcaster ORF.

September 13, 2023 at 6:53 am #109413Laotian_12_inMemberAuthorI have noticed that only 8 stations in the demo are/were real stations (as far as I know it), and 5 cuts are DJ cuts (also they should be Anne Ryle and Tony Allan, not Anne Royal and Tony Allen, my bad!)
The rest of the cuts were for fictional stations made up for demonstration.
Another mistake on the list is that the jingle before Gateway Radio was also for BBC Radio Wales, but I just didn’t hear the W!
October 5, 2023 at 3:47 pm #109457Laotian_12_inMemberAuthorYet another mishearing, the one after Jubilee Radio was Radio Topshop, not Radio Tomshore, might have been how they sung it…
So I can now confirm that 9 are real stations, 5 are DJ discotheques and the rest are stations made up for demonstration.
