When I was still working at the station in RIdgway/Saint Marys, Pennsylvania I had an idea to take a jingle, turn it into a legal id and use it in the hours when we didn’t carry network news and just rolled on with music at the top of the hour.
What started as just a jingle became a legal id by inserting our call letters “WDDH” in between the jingle singers.
Its nice you took the time to share this and mean no disrespect but I have to say
Reelworld certainly perfected jingles that can’t be understood.
I played it over and over and I hear 97-Fiii- then something unintelligible under the VO guy and then ‘Lar-ry”
And if that song going into it is any indication it did not really fit with the format very well. Perhaps they were cost-effective.
Well…that song after the jingle fit the format very well. The Hound plays country music from the 50s up to today’s current hits on a 60/40 mix of new vs old.
The jingles took a little getting used to but they fit a somewhat contemporary sounding country station well.
