So today is the birthday of Jonathan Wolfert, President of JAM Creative Productions (yeah yeah, I know you know this).
It’s hard to know quite what to say after so many years of listening to and admiring his work.
As someone who had the privilege of spending five days in Dallas earlier this year, talking to him, listening to jingles and watching him at work, I feel a particular appreciation of that fact that for those of us on JingleMad he’s still at heart one of us – someone who loves these silly songs that make radio sound special, something more than an iPod mix, and which add humanity and creativity and energy and fun to what we listen to. Jon’s an instinctive collector, just as we are. He enjoyed jingles when he was growing up in New York City all those years ago. He enjoys them as much as ever now.
So, at the risk of living up to my “cheesy” moniker, I’d like to suggest to Mr W on behalf of the jingle community, whatever our ages and interests, that we believe the world would be a duller, greyer, less vibrant place if it wasn’t for all the jingles you’ve given us over the years.
So, yes, let’s raise a glass to say: happy birthday, Mr Wolfert.
Oh – and greetings too from Bob Dinan.

May 10, 2014 at 2:39 pm #94351radioboy949Adding my birthday wishes, Mr. Wolfert! Cheers, Jingle Man!
May 10, 2014 at 3:27 pm #94356LenGroatI echo every word you said Geoff ~ where would we be without his amazing long-term focus on quality and consistency?
It must just be a co-incidence….. but ‘radio man’ and secret anorak Simon Hirst of Capital FM Yorkshire’s ‘Hirsty’s Daily Dose’ just played a JAM Radio1 jingle (Britain’s No. 1) on his show on Global’s ‘Gold’ station this afternoon. Clearly sometimes the station jingles just won’t do…..!
Maybe his way of sending Jon a little ‘royalty’ present!?
May 10, 2014 at 4:47 pm #94361bazaHappy Birthday to Jon. What would Radio be like without you! Enjoy your special day.

May 12, 2014 at 7:35 am #94375JAM / PAMSMemberObviously, everyone reading this has a birthday, but not everyone has the honor of seeing an entire thread devoted to it on JingleMad. It’s actually a bit embarrassing. :”>
Ratnob, thanks as always for the nice words. Scotron, good work (again) on the little video. And to everyone, I appreciate all of the good wishes. Thank you! -jmw
