now for you folks trying to download via dropbox, just bare with me. i’d much rather this than sound cloud, because it’s more accessible with my screen reader. whereas soundcloud makes it real hard.November 30, 2013 at 4:09 am #92439TommyBy the 2:30 mark, I was ready to reply with “One of these things is not like the others” but another RW cut got squeezed in at the end.
I like ’em, but would rather hear all RW or all JAM. But I’m sure the listeners don’t even notice, so I guess I shouldn’t be picky.

November 30, 2013 at 11:23 am #92446mjb1124MemberIt was previously posted that KOST had lost the rights to use their Reelworld jingles around March 2011, which is why a few older JAM cuts were temporarily brought back. So I wonder if the RW cuts resurfacing in the holiday mix are a sign of things to come after Christmas. I know the station recently got a new program director, a new “feel good” slogan, and changed its (non-sonic) logo. And the overall sound of the station before Christmas seemed considerably more contemporary and upbeat compared to a year before. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
November 30, 2013 at 11:24 am #92447LenGroatThank you, good to hear the JAM jingles ‘in situ’
No one does Christmas like JAM, and it’s one area where they are very different to the ‘the PAMS days’, they took them in a whole new beautiful direction.

December 1, 2013 at 7:31 pm #92484TommyThanks for the clarification, Neal, but how is it custom if “WLIT” and “KOST 103.5” have the same melody and number of syllables?
December 2, 2013 at 4:01 am #92486mjb1124MemberThe instrumental logo used on these Reelworld KOST cuts is indeed the standard “WLIT” logo. “KOST 103.5” is sung in a slightly different rhythm, but is still the same notes as WLIT (and different from the JAM KOST logo). It was the same way the last time they aired Reelworld One jingles.
I don’t have access to the Reelworld One site – is KOST now being used as the pilot station for that particular logo? I know WLIT is now branded as “My FM”, and from what I’ve heard, its jingles are sung over the intros of songs (i.e. “power intros” or “pop tops”). Then again, WLIT was primarily known as “Lite FM” the last couple years and used a different sonic logo, yet Reelworld continued to use the call letter and old logo in demos anyway.
