Loved the idea, but happy with the replacement.

I was going to be on Radio 4 “PM” this evening, but they have ditched me in favour of… playing jingles.

Suits me… I just hope they choose those that really reflect 40 years…

It looks like they’re just playing old Kenny Everett clips rather than jingles.
I’m downloading the audio stream off iPlayer. If there’s any jingles in the final 10 minutes, I’ll SoundCloud them.

Shame David didn’t get on PM, in view of the book – maybe he should have tried the last half hour of BBC tv Breakfast instead…

One thing about Radio 4 – they always somehow, despite their traditional “stuffiness”, seemed to “get” Everett’s humour, even to this day – something a few other more supposedly “hip” corners of the Beeb didn’t quite manage.
