Hey guys,
OK, I’m thinking about getting personal cuts from jam for an internet only podcast I do called vision cast. I play a veriety of music, plus have a few discussions on my show. I’m thinking since a lot of jingle madders on this forum chosed jam as their #1 choice for jingles, I’m jumping on the jam waggen! but should I go with a composite, or what? any suggestions and/or audio examples will help me a lot. here’s a list of what cuts I was thinking:
top of hour ID from “home of the hits.”
Flame thrower cut 6.
Hot wired cut 1
again, any help would be so kind!
thanks!July 21, 2013 at 6:55 am #90926tyty21composites would work great! try some of the kost packages, those would work great for the softer music, leaning towards adult contemporary. you might also do miami light, light n’ up, and a few of the magic music series because they mostly got used on WLYF in Miami, so that’s pritty close to home for you.

July 23, 2013 at 8:20 pm #90954RobWalkerMemberI’m curious about your podcast. Are you in the United States? How do you pay licensing for the music you play?
July 24, 2013 at 8:45 pm #90965jc_djmacYes, I’m in the United States. and no, I don’t pay anything. all of the music I play are on my laptop via iTunes. No licensing at all.
July 25, 2013 at 12:52 am #90969RobWalkerMemberAbsolutely 100% illegal.
Save the money you’d spend on jingles and use it for an attorney.
And if you feel you won’t get caught, think again. You should be familiar with all of the rules associated with podcasting copyright protected music. There’s a decent wiki that outlines it nicely. http://wiki.creativecommons.org/Podcasting_Legal_GuideJuly 25, 2013 at 1:15 am #90970jc_djmacI already know all of the rules, and I’m only using the cuts for my own personal use. trust me.

Its the copyright-protected commercially-available MUSIC that you may potentially be playing illegally on your Podcast (or those other things that you do on the web) – NOT potentially any JINGLES you may get sung – those are permitted (usually) by the jingle company for internet use normally without paying an airplay fee/royalty.
But NOT any piece of music available for commercial sale in a shop or via purchased internet download.
I hope that this is of some help to you.
