That got you for a moment We are excited about our new ‘mini’ package’ from JAM PAMS. With ORIGINAL cuts from pre-1960 and after 1990 they are the only company able to do this. We have created a new 7 nights a week show ‘The Beatle Cafe’ at midnight, as we believe radio is already super-saturated with ‘love songs’, phone-ins or anonymous music shows syndicated from London on ‘local’ radio.
We are, first and last a MUSIC station, and who better to celebrate musically than a British group whose music conquered the world. To match it and ‘brand’ the show (trendy word!) we reviewed ‘Beatle-style’ tracks and though the old PAMS cuts for ‘WABeatleC’ we great we wanted something that matched the later songs as well as the early ones.
Deep within the JAM catalogue were come cuts originally made for BBC Radio 2, and yes they WERE available! All I had to do (was be cheeky) and ask Jon to add a ‘lively’ shout to the front, and we have a cut that matches the show, makes a great donut, AND sounds like it was ALL recorded yesterday ~ well the vocals ARE new !!

And this is how it sounds used as a donut….

Lastly we were delighted to be asked to add these and other cuts to JingleMad Radio (thanks Roy!)
WARNING: be careful of listening to the ‘Beatles Cafe’ at midnight starting this weekend as you will probably still be up at 1am – the music (and jinlges) are SO good !

Actually, the cuts you’re referring to were originally made for WLS and are in the “Rockin’ For America” package. Some of them were later sung for Radio 2.

I’m always get so excited about new cuts arriving I don’t always get my ‘jingle history’ right + my memory is fading fast at 63
The original was cut 19 on the WLS RFA demo… and GOLLY cut 1 was super too.. melodic but tight!

I’m guessing that this is just a play on the Beatles’ song title “Eigth Days A Week” .
